Raised in San Diego and now living in Los Angeles, Hether is the solo project of Paul Castelluzzo. Hether has just released the debut album Sticky Thumb on earslime records. The 8-track record moves through a number of styles, from acoustic opener 'When U Loved Me (Acoustic)' to indie guitar sounds seen in 'Sex Wax'. Penultimate track 'Highbrid', is a cover of Misfits' 'Hybrid Moments', inspired by the Duster/Helvetia’s version, and has been released alongside a visualiser of  a morphing psychedelic face and acid rippling acid textures. Hether's version uses both an analogue drum machine and sleepy live drums, lending an L.A slacker feel to the whole thing. Paul's vocals are as lathargic as the drums and the visualiser, cocooned in warm fuzz. Check out Hether's 'Highbrid' here. -Ellie Rose-Davies
